On this page you can find out more about how to run a successful Golden Chopsticks Awards voting campaign for your restaurant or takeaway. Remember in order to be a finalist you must be in the top four of a category (decided by number of votes received).

How do I get my restaurant/takeaway nominated?

It’s simple, you just need members of the public to vote for you when voting opens on 1st February. You don’t need to sign up to the restaurant area, but if you do it will help your chances as we have some special free tools available to help your campaign. See below how to access these free items.

There are also six Judges' Awards and three Founders' Awards. These awards are not linked to public votes and will be decided soley by our Judges and Founders respectively. If you have been nominated for one of these awards we will let you know. You can view all the awards categories here.

Please note that in order to be a finalist (top 4) in your category, your restaurant or takeaway must have an FSA of 3 or above or a Pass in Scotland.

How do people vote for my restaurant or takeaway?

You simply direct your customers to this website (theGCAs.co.uk) during the voting period and they can vote for you in one of the 13 public categories (or as many as they like). If you are signed upyou can send them a personalised link to vote for you. There is one important thing to note however, we use google maps technology for our voting system, so please do make sure your restaurant is correctly listed on Google maps, you can do this here.

How can I get more people to vote for my restaurant or takeaway?

You need to get the word out there that you are taking part in the GCAs. There are many ways to do this including word of mouth, emailing your customer database (if you have one) and of course, using your social media. The more awareness you create, the more votes you are likely to get. 

Here are some of the ways we can help you:

  1. Get a personalised link to your restaurants voting page that you can send to your customers, to do this all you need to do is sign up here (and make sure your business is correctly listed on Google)
  2. You can order one of our voting packs which will provide you with voting cards. To order a voting pack all you have to do is sign up
  3. We have produced some Golden Chopsticks digital images which you can download and use on your social media pages, website, newsletters. You just need to sign up here to download them.

Which GCAs category should I put my restaurant into?

Essentially it’s up to you, there are 13 public voting categories and you should pick the category you would like to focus on and then ask your customers to vote for you in this one (it’s better to focus on one category to maximise your vote count). You can communicate this to them on your social media, website and in person. Check out all the categories here

Once voting closes, what happens next?

Once voting closes on 10th March all the votes in each public category will be counted. The top four in each category will automatically become finalists, each finalist will reveive one free ticket to the awards. From here the winner will be selected internally and announced at the awards ceremony on 29th April in London.
